Spotting is a skill. There is no one spotter that does it all; hence, the need for specialty spotters. One of the most prevalent complaints is that of reappearing spots. They can be so frustrating because they can be easily cleaned away, but will persistently come back. However, they can be removed, contrary to popular belief. Spots reappear for only one of two reasons. They are either a wicking problem or a residual problem. Determining which case is simple. Time is the determining factor. If it comes back within a day or two the cause is wicking. If it is over a longer period of time it is residual and both causes are correctable.
